Why can't this year be over

So far this year we've had incorrectly withheld taxes, the celiac diagnosis, critical and extreme tooth and gum problems due to celiac disease. This morning, we can add to that list our pipes bursting.

On the gum stuff, and you may already know about this, there is (or was a couple years ago when I did it) a credit line called Chase HealthAdvance which allows you to take on no-interest loans for any medical/dental work you need done, and spread it into payments split over two or three years. The one caveat is that if you ever miss a payment, the whole thing comes due and high interest rates kick in retroactively, acting like a penalty. And you can't set up automatic debit yet (although you can pay online).

That's how I handled paying $4000 for the gum procedure I had to get - it's been $150 a month for a couple years now, and I've got maybe 10 months to go. It's been really good for me because it's a zero-interest loan, you know? It is literally money for nothing (provided I don't miss any monthly payments, which let's face it I'm pretty control freak about). So I was instead able to put that up-front money that *would* have gone to dentistry toward paying down high-interest debts like student loans, while I pay the dental/medical stuff off gradually. Anyway, you might look into it if C's periodontist hasn't already brought this up.
